The hunt for ivory shoes

So on Wednesday the 18th, I had two (yes two) weddings to attend. I have this brilliant dress that I have been dying to wear.
Problem is, nooo shoes match this dress. Maybe you think this dress is off-white and black, or perhaps ivory and dark brown. Well let me tell you, if I wear black shoes it looks brown, and if I wear brown shoes it looks black. So I haven't worn it yet:( I decided it would be a better idea to match the top part of the dress which is sort of cream/ivory color. This shouldn't be hard, they make lots of shoes that color.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I drive to South Towne and spend at least an hour in Forever Young shoes. "Why don't they make heels that aren't 5 1/2 inches tall? Oh these are cute...and severely uncomfortable. Yup, these will work, except their not in my size. Awesome." And the shop girls were verrrry annoying. There was about 13 of them with clipboards walking around annoying the crap out of me with "are you still finding everything OK?" um..the other fake-blonde, too-tan, chick just asked me that!

With that, I wandered next door to Payless. NO shoes that will work. I'm walking out SO annoyed, when I FOUND THEM. Size 6. I try them on, and they are so too small. The lessthanhelpful shop girl looks up other stores. Size 7 at Fashion Place. Size 6 1/2 at American Fork. Shoot. They don't do store-to-store transfers or ship. So I walk away defeated.

I decided to try other stores in the mall because there has to be SOME store that carries ivory heels, right? I went to DEB, JCPenney, 5.7.9, American Eagle, SHI, Macy's, Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, and Famous Footwear. N O T H I N G. I searched online on Payless' website to order those shoes; which would have worked except they only had a 5, 9, or 10 in stock. FML. So I did what any other desperateforbeautifulfootwear girl would do, and I packed up my iPod and hit the road. I think there might have been a chorus of angels singing HALLELUIAH when I pulled up to the store, although I was too excited to remember. Alas, I try the 6 1/2 on and it is a Cinderella fit:) AND I made it for the last day of BOGO so I got myself some white kicks also. I love happy endings!

Said weddings were great! The first wedding Leatherby's catered. OH HECK YA! The second wedding was just beautiful. I mean everything about it! Like, I might recruit her to plan my wedding in a bajillion years when that happens.

In other news, I am a workaholic! I have worked 40+ hours every week since school has been out! I am tired. I haven't had any of those stayinyourpajamasuntil3andwatchTValllllday kind of days yet. However, I HAVE found time to practice some piano, make 4 wedding gifts, help my cousin with her wedding, shop!, read, walk my dog, and Zumba. Don't worry I've also had my share of coffee!

I am over this rain so I'm off to Phoenix on Thursday. Forecast? 101 and 102. Sounds perfect to me!
